Job Description

2nd Line Support Field Engineer, Education Industry – Essex

Salary: £24k-£28k

We are currently looking for a 2nd Line Support Field Engineer to join our client's team in the Education industry in Essex. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 2nd line support to a variety of educational organisations, such as schools, academies and universities. The successful canddiate will be the first point of contact to edcuation sites.

This is a great opportunity for a 1st line support engineer who is looking for experience to move to 2nd Line.

Job Description:

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and provide technical advice to users including
Monitor and maintain computer systems, hardware and network
Set up user accounts and provide technical support on hardware and software installation
Diagnose system issues and provide technical solutions
Respond to client calls, emails and system alert
Maintain client systems, including software upgrades and system maintenance
Provide support and training to users
Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers
Keep accurate records of support requests and resolutions
Provide feedback and recommendations to team members
Technical Skills Required:

Strong experience in technical support
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Mac OSX, Office 365, Active Directory, Microsoft Intune
Knowledge of network configuration, LAN/WAN, firewalls and VP
Thorough understanding of networking protocols and technologies
Good knowledge of hardware and software installation, repair and maintenance
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and take initiative
