2nd Line Engineer – IT Managed Services – Hertfordshire
A well established and leading IT Managed Service Provider is seeking a motivated and technically driven 2nd Line Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. Established over 20 years ago, our client has become a leader in their field and has developed an excellent reputation within the industry for providing a vast range of IT services with their clients being at the centre of everything they do. They work with a wide range of clients, of varying sizes and demands, across London and the Home Counties.
You'll be working within a dynamic and well-established team providing 2nd line support across a variety of different clients, internal systems and management. This role will allow you to quickly establish yourself within the team and will give you the opportunity to gain exposure to 3rd line responsibilities and project work. Our client has created a hard-working yet fun and collaborative environment, they pride themselves on not just providing first class technical solutions but doing this with an exemplary level of customer service.
-Respond to helpdesk tickets, either resolving or escalating to 3rd Line
-Complete service requests and act as a point of escalation for 1st line engineers
-Be willing to be a part of project work when required/where suitable
-Attend client sites when required
-Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation
-Assist with the deployment of client and internal projects when required
-Previous experience working within a 2nd Line role, ideally within an IT Services environment (however the client is very open minded to a candidate's industry)
-Posses excellent customer service skills, with the ability to break down technical terms
-Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills
-Exposure to some of the following technologies: Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, virtualisation (VMWare/HyverV), Citrix (Xen Desktop/XenApp), Cisco Voice, SharePoint, Windows Servers (remote access, RDS, RDS Gateway, Filer Server, DHCP, DNS), routers/firewalls/switches (Cisco, HP, Dell), Microsoft 365.
In return, they are offering up to £40,000 PA (depending on experience) plus numerous other benefits, including funding further training/certifications. They are a social group and have many social events (including beer fridge Friday!).
Working hours fall between 08:00 – 18:00 (08:00 – 16:30 or 09:00 – 17:30 or 09:30 – 18:00, these are planned in advance, and they are flexible/understanding of personal commitments).
Work from home: Flexibility to work from home 3 days per week (once passed a period of training/induction).
Candidates must have a UK driving licence and their own vehicle
