2nd Line Support Engineer – Crawley – £24,000-£32,000

Are you a skilled IT professional who enjoys solving technical issues and providing excellent customer service? Are you looking for a challenging and rewarding role with a leading IT services provider? Our client is seeking a talented 2nd Line Support Technician to join our team.

The role of the 2nd Line Support Technician is to act as an escalation point for the 1st line Support technicians, providing additional technical expertise to resolve complex issues. You will be responsible for monitoring systems, performing maintenance tasks (HW & SW), implementing system changes, and attending customer sites to deliver our contractual objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Proactively support the 1st line support technicians
Attend customer sites to support the delivery of contractual objectives
Manage and support areas of technical specialism
Work within a team of technical specialists
Take pride in the services delivered and the reputation of the client services
Maintain, develop and own our internal production, research and development systems and services
Manage all change activity as per the client Change process
Assist with any technical escalations
Develop and implement a training program for the 1st Line Support team
Follow the ITIL aligned Service Desk best practicesActivities Covered:

Management & ownership of any P1 issues, including communication to customers, RCA, third party liaison
Mimecast management (Policy changes)
Software patching
Software deployment (upgrades)
Application support – Custom and standard
Network support – switches, firewalls, configuration
Back up issues
Any issues found as a result of system checking – space issues/Hardware issues etc
Management and ownership of all problem records
Provision and maintenance of Documentation library
Trend analysis and recommendations for improvements
Training on new technologies to 1st line team & ICT liaisons
Data restoresChange Management – raising and delivery of system changes
This role offers a shift rotation pattern covering 5 days per week, from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, and out of hours 24/7 on call,also on a rotational basis.
