Job Description

3rd Line Engineer – IT Managed Services – St Albans

A well established and leading IT Managed Service Provider is seeking a motivated and technically driven 3rd Line Engineer, or an experienced 2nd Line Engineer looking for a step up, to join them on a permanent basis. Established over 20 years ago, our client has become a leader in their field and has developed an excellent reputation within the industry for providing a vast range of IT services with their clients being at the centre of everything they do. They work with a wide range of clients, of varying sizes and demands, across London and the Home Counties.

You'll be working within a dynamic and well-established team providing 3rd line support across a variety of different clients, internal systems and management. This role will allow you to quickly establish yourself within the team and will give you the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of different technologies and extensive project work spanning across server installations, migrations and virtualisations. Our client has created a hard-working yet fun and collaborative environment, they pride themselves on not just providing first class technical solutions but doing this with an exemplary level of customer service.

Responsibilities:

-Complete service requests and act as the final point of escalation within the support team

-Complete deployment of client and internal IT projects

-Work alongside the Technical Services Manage to ensure support is delivered in line with SLAs to their clients.

-Attend client sites when required

-Produce and maintain accurate technical documentation

Requirements:

-Previous experience working within a 3rd or 2nd Line role, ideally within an IT Services environment (not mandatory, the client is open minded to previous industries)

-Previous experience working on IT projects

-Posses excellent customer service skills, with the ability to break down technical terms

-Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem solving skills

-Experience with management of devices and policies with Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Microsoft Intune

-Experience with Azure, including Azure AD and virtual machines within Azure Cloud

-Deployment and advance support of 365 products, including SharePoint/OneDrive and Teams

-Excellent networking knowledge including DHCP/DNS, VLANs, VPNs and routing/switching

-Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMWare and Hyper-V)

-Possess an understanding of backup and recovery technologies

-Management and troubleshooting of Windows Server (Apply online only), including Remote Desktop Services, AD and AD Sync

-Posses an understanding of security concepts, compliance and governance

-Any IT certifications will be highly favoured (AZ-900, MS-900, CCNA, Comptia etc.)

In return, they are offering up to £45,000 PA (depending on experience) plus numerous other benefits, including funding further training/certifications. They are a social group and have many social events (including beer fridge Friday!).

Working hours fall between 08:00 – 18:00 (08:00 – 16:30 or 09:00 – 17:30 or 09:30 – 18:00, these are planned in advance, and they are flexible/understanding of personal commitments).

Work from home: Flexibility to work from home 3 days per week (once passed a period of training/induction).

Candidates must have a UK driving licence and their own vehicle
