Job Description

AWE is looking for an Asset Management Specialist

Location – We are located in the countryside between Reading and Basingstoke with onsite parking. There are good bus links between Reading, Basingstoke and Newbury.

Salary: £34,000-£44,000 Negotiable (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

We have an exciting opportunity for a data analytical person to work within the Asset Management team at AWE. Data is at the heart of our asset management decision-making and the AM Reporting & Processes team provides the data, tools and insight required to make optimal asset management decisions, that maximise long-term value and align with the objectives and purpose of the organisation.

As an AM Data Analyst, you will be part of a new dynamic team focused on shaping future business decisions and investments. It is a GREAT time to join AWE as this is the start of a multi-million pound investment in the site as we begin working towards updating the weapons on all of the submarines in the UK CasD programme.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Extraction and analysis of data to the specifications required by the business

Produce insights that can help AWE make better strategic decisions and share with non-specialists using best practices to depict analytical trends

Delve into datasets and identify key trends

Support and participate with the wider team in producing reports, develop & maintain dashboards etc.

You will need

Experience in data analytical tools such as:

Power BI

IBM Cognos

Programming languages i.e SQL/Python

Datalakes

Advanced Excel

To be dynamic, technical and have had previous experience in manipulating, analysing, and presenting data

Self-motivated individual with a can-do approach who can manage their own working day and priorities etc.

Able to operate under pressure and influence decisions.

Customer focused (Stakeholder engagement) with great communication skills and can translate technical to non-technical & vice versa

A good level of understanding of Asset Management/Maintenance principles are preferred but not essential

Asset Management database experience preferred but not essential e.g Maximo/SAP/Hexagon EAM (formally Infor)

To be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for this role.
