Are you an experienced Test Engineer who’s looking for an exciting new challenge, as well as the opportunity to learn & use Playwright & Cypress?
My client are an exciting AI software company, who are growing their engineering team in Birmingham. Working as part of a cross-functional Agile squad you’ll be responsible for:
* Designing, owning & implementing the test strategy (from both an automated & manual exploratory perspective)
* Ensure there is continuity in the testing strategy within the testing team, including running workshops across the wider engineering team
* Develop relationships with stakeholders across the business, with a focus on the DevOps/SRE team – you’ll be looking at developing tools, frameworks and processes to help them transition from test to release to auto-deploy in the DevOps landscape
* Define & measure KPI’s to help make continual improvement in the software development timeline, with a focus on software quality
To be considered for this Automation Test Engineer role you’ll need to demonstrate commercial experience in the following areas:
* 3+ years experience Testing experience
* Ideally you’ll have experience working with an Automation Framework, including Playwright, Cypress and/or Selenium
* Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, Java/Groovy, .NET or similar languages in a BDD environment
* Shell scripting (desirable)
* Understanding of modern testing practices, including stress/performance and security testing
* Understanding of CI technologies – Jenkins ideally
The Automation Test Engineer role is paying up to £55,000 + Benefits package, including Company Pension scheme, 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays, Parental Leave plan & Vitality Health Insurance). The business works to a hybrid working policy of working in Birmingham city centre 2-3 days per week, with the rest working remotely. The R&D team are based in the city centre within commutable distance of both New Street & Snow Hill stations. They feel this works best for them due the amount of collaboration that happens between the squads.
