Automation Test Lead

Type of job: Permanent

Location: Remote

Salary: up to £50,000 per annum

Staffline are continually looking to push forwards from a technological perspective and as such are bolstering the Staffline Digital team with an Automation Test Lead.

The Automation Test Lead Opportunity

As an Automation Test Lead, you’ll own and drive Staffline’s automated testing processes as well as lead the Testers with their day to day activities ensuring reliable and quality software is delivered to support the implementation of projects and Digital / business change into the Staffline Group.

What you’ll do as Automation Test Lead

This role involves working within an Agile Scrum environment, ensuring the right level of testing takes place to ensure quality solutions are delivered and that functional requirements, system compliance and technical specifications are met.

You’ll have full ownership of the automated testing processes and be responsible for the testing to ensure that appropriate and robust test plans, scripts, scenarios and test datasets are used in manual, exploratory and automated tests.

You’ll own of the defect management process to support project delivery, liaising with Developers to ensure efficient turnaround of defects. You’ll ensure environments and test data are appropriate prior to starting tests.

You’ll be responsible for planning and coordinating release activities.

You’ll manage and mentor the test team taking an overview of daily activities as well as training junior Testers in both technical and general testing.

What technical knowledge you’ll need to be successful as Automation Test Lead

Test automation, specifically C#, SpecFlow / BDD, Selenium, Visual Studio, Nunit and GIT, as well as browserstack/saucelabs or similar.
SQL and an understanding of database design.
Azure, configuration of function apps/app services in the Azure portal, the creation and maintenance of simple pipelines (Powershell skills are also useful), an understanding of how Azure storage servers work, especially queues and deployment of Azure resources (function apps etc.).
Adhoc API testing using Postman/Swagger as well as experience of writing coded API tests in an OO language and the ability to independently determine how to integrate with third party APIs using available documentation.
JMeter, able to analyse systems to produce JMeter test plans, write simple scripts to implement pre/post processors and able to execute tests and analyse results.
Test management including the creation of test strategies and the line management of Testers.
The preparation of test scenarios, test cases, as well as conducting manual functional tests on software applications, websites/mobiles and APIs.
