Overview

Cloud Decisions are excited to have once again partnered with one of the UK's Top 10 Azure Partners (Microsoft Solutions Partner for Azure Infra + Azure Digital App + Innovation and holder of Advanced Specialisisations for Azure) as they look to scale their Azure Application Modernisation capabilities. Working with some of the UK's most recognizable brand names, you'll lead customer through their Application Modernisation journey, ensuring legacy application are transformed towards a Cloud Native state, allowing them to be built, hosted, and operated in Azure. 

This position is the first of its kind in this small organisation and the person that will be hired will play an important part in the expansion of the business as well as have an opportunity to be innovative and bring new ideas that prove useful to the progression of the business and the benefit of the customers.

The Techie bit

We'll need you to bring with you demonstrable, enterprise project experience in most of the below: 

Cloud application development solutions (e.g. PaaS, Serverless, API Management)
One or more of the following programming languages: C++, C#, Java, Node.js, JSON, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, Pig/Hive
Container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry)
Continuous integration technologies (e.g. Jenkins, Azure for DevOps, Chef, Puppet)
Web application server technologies, cloud application design, software architecture and practices; (design/development/deployment, Agile, SCRUM, ALM).
Experience using integrated development environments (e.g. Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code)
Experience with scalable architectures using Azure App Service, API Management, serverless technologies, container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry etc.), API management, microservice framework
Software development practices: DevOps and CI/CD tool chains (i.e. Azure DevOps, GitHub)

What we need from you

Minimum of three years of success in: complex projects, architecture, design, implementation, and/or support of highly distributed applications and data platforms required. Demonstrable experience across the following areas:

Relationship Building – a proven track record of building deep technical relationships with customers. Experience in managing various stakeholder relationships to reach consensus on solution/projects.
Problem Solving – have the ability to solve customer problems through cloud technologies.
Collaboration and Communication – capable of driving decisions collaboratively, resolving conflicts with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Leadership – ability to orchestrate, lead, and influence virtual teams, ensuring successful implementation of customer projects. Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences (Senior Executives, IT management, etc.).
Certified – currently holds (or on a pathway to) achieving the following Azure certifications: Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, & Azure DevOps Engineer Associate.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate Consulting and Professional Services experience, with a background as a Senior Software Developer. You will be involved in a multitude of customer facing projects, varying from leading edge IoT, application modernisation or cloud native application implementations.

This role requires you to be able to lead solution workshops, as well as getting involved with the build and production release of applications on the Azure platform, for our customers.

What you'll be doing…

Working in a dedicated Azure transformation team, you will work closely with customers to turn architectural vision into leading edge cloud native solutions! You day-to-day will be dynamic and varied but include: 

Understanding our customers' overall applications portfolio, business priorities, and success measures to design solutions (using both Microsoft and third-party solutions) using PaaS, DevOps & Advanced Application coding. 
Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, and appropriate resiliency and reliability upon deployment.
Develop deep relationships with key customer IT decision makers, who drive long-term cloud adoption within their company, enabling them to be cloud advocates.
Collaborate with Azure Architects and Azure Engineers in developing and evolving complex end-to-end enterprise-scale solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform
