Job Description

Software Engineer – CPU Modelling

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £47,000 – £80,000 (D.O.E.) + Bonus + Shares + Benefits

The future of computing – Will you be part of the journey?

This position boasts the opportunity to join one of most prestigious and iconic names in the semiconductor industry, designing and developing tomorrows CPUs.

You can expect a lucrative package inclusive of a bonus scheme, RSUs (increasing with years in service), private healthcare (covering you and your immediate family members), personal travel insurance, life assurance and 25 days annual leave…

… and for those who enjoy working from home or are based slightly further afield, do not fear, the business has an open outlook and can accommodate flexible working environments or even relocation packages for the right skillset.

“That sounds enticing… but what exactly will I be doing?”

You will be building highly efficient C++ models that mimic the architecture and behaviour of CPU’s. Working as an individual contributor within a team of 15 software engineers, you will be operating across the entire SDLC, whilst interacting closely with design and verification engineers for future implementation of your models.

Your processor designs will contribute towards enabling the intelligence in billions of silicon chips and securely powering products across wildly varying industries.

“Interesting… and what experience will I need to bring with me?”

Well, both Senior and Mid-level profiles are being considered, but you’ll need at least a couple of years’ experience of low-level C++ programming and good communication skills to interact with the design and hardware engineers.

Previous experience with modelling technologies like System C or gem5 would be great, but it’s not essential and you can be trained on this if need be!
