For this role you MUST have RECENTLY worked with or for a University previously to be considered for the role

You will be responsible for leading the DevOps team in IDS and own a range of Cloud infrastructure applications and integrations. You will be key in the management and upgrade of key university systems such as SITS, research systems and IT Accounts.

You should have knowledge of the major Cloud environments, such as AWS, Azure and GCP with the ability to help lead the University on its Cloud transformation projects.

You will be familiar with scripting integrations and processes using languages such as Python, Groovy Script, terraform and Power Shell. Our services run on a mix of Windows, Linux and Mac OS with increasing reliance on automations and DevOps tools.

The role reports to the Associate Director Operations & Infrastructure and is part of the senior management team within the security, operations & infrastructure team

Main Duties

Lead in the planning, documentation, and implementation of various systems Cloud services & systems.
Administer & integrate with the University IT Accounts platforms.
Develop the Universities approach to Infrastructure as a code (IaaC).
Lead the upgrade & operations of systems such as SITS and our container clusters.
Lead the development the identity management systems & the integration into the University platforms.
Develop a culture around continuous integration and deployment pipelines for application management.
Assist with the planning and distribution of software and service packs; ensuring timely patching of systems.
Manage day to day incidents and first/second line support for server infrastructure, performing on-site and occasional remote technical support.
Liaise with vendors and support companies to resolve faults.
Working with the platform team to further develop and shape our hybrid-cloud infrastructure between Campus and Cloud.
