Job Description

Spectrum IT's client are hiring for a Contract Software Developer to join a fast-paced team and to be involved in the technical design and development of their back-end solutions. As a business they deliver intelligent curbside management solutions which modernise public sector parking. Their solutions also help make city streets safer for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.

The Software Developer will be part of the Technical Delivery function; a modern, fast paced, deeply motivated and collaborative team. You will be involved in the transformation project to support a large implementation of ANPR cameras. The role will involve development and support for an ANPR camera solution. The cameras use OCR software to identify vehicle registration marks in order to compile and transmit evidence packs to the hosted systems.

Continue development of the solution alongside support existing installations and testing.
Port the existing C++ codebase to C#, aligning with the wider tech stack.
Responsible for refactoring and modernising the existing code in a fast paced, high demand, agile software development team. Skills

Software development and design skills, including:
Embedded software engineering experience
Experience interfacing with hardware components (such as cameras)
Experience in C# and C++ languages
Familiarity with building and deploying software onto Linux platform
Strong stakeholder management skills, both for internal and external customers and users
The ability to recognise the standards and controls driven by ISO9001 and 27001
Firm understanding of Security principles and their implementation in day-to-day activities.Additional, "nice to have" skills include:

Experience developing on a windows platform
Previous experience with image/video capture and analysis
Automatic number plate recognition – an understanding of OCR implementations
Knowledge of traffic enforcement cameras
