Role: Contract Software Developer

Overview
Spectrum IT's client are seeking a highly experienced embedded software developer to work with their Mission Software team and to help architect the video pipeline for a UAV-born camera system and associated ground-based viewing system.

Responsibilities:

Gather requirements for a complete video pipeline
Design a full architecture diagram and associated interface documents, detailing all software products to be developed
Work with the team and other stakeholders to understand the requirements of the proposed system and then architect the solution to these requirements.
Knowledge of video encoding and transport principles
Inform the Hardware Development team of any requirements the software will have on the onboard hardware and work with them to refine this.
Assist to put in place a template of required technologies, interface designs and hardware requirements which will allow the Mission Software team to continue to develop and then support the system
Requirements

Significant experience with C/C++ in both desktop and embedded applications
Experience in the use of multimedia encoding and transport technologies o Such as FFMPEG or GStreamer
Experience working with ASP.Net Core web applications.
