Hybrid role – 2 days a week in the office, 3 days a week at home.

About the Data Architect role:

The Data Architect role will be accountable for blueprinting the underlying data strategy to assist the implementation of data maturity.

You will enjoy working with the latest cloud environments, cutting edge technology and help shape new data pathways in a company that helps people live healthier lives.

The right candidate will possess a desire to work in fast-paced environment, with the ability to consistently deliver exceptional results on demanding timelines.

Your responsibilities as our Data Architect will include:

Collaborate with a central design authority and senior data engineers to conceptualize, design and develop a data and information service framework

Help visualize how the changes in data acquisitions can affect the landscape within the data framework (conceptual, logical, physical)

Work with the Data Engineering team to implement robust and reliable data architecture to sustain high-performance Kafka streams and predictive models

Create a repeatable framework for MLOps which help with inference and calling predictive models

Introduce a balance of languages and tools that enable data to seemingly transverse the company estate, which ensure robust data pipelines linking various systems

Identify potential technical opportunities to enable higher delivery of data products and improvement areas

Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality within architecture limits

Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data

Work collaboratively with the Data Science, System Architecture, and other IT delivery teams to design and construct data frameworks which can efficiently exchange data between platforms

Own and drive the future state architecture and associated delivery roadmaps

Contribute to Enterprise level Data Architecture visions with the company group

Work closely with key stakeholders (Chief Data Officer and Data Management) to implement and influence the Group’s strategy

What we're looking for in our Data Architect:

Essential

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Systems/Sciences/Maths

5 years of experience in business intelligence, data warehousing, data management and data delivery, database and ETL technologies

Strong technical experience in designing solutions for data Lakes, supported on premise and cloud architecture

Microsoft SQL Server technologies (SSIS)

5+ years on data architecture & modelling in Big Data technologies

Experience designing effective streaming systems, using technologies like Spark Streaming and Apache Kafka

Expertise in defining the right architecture for exposing Machine Learning model

Knowledge of MLOps/DataOps framework architecture – architecting for rapid change in operational and analytical environments

Knowledge of security models for hybrid solution deployment (Preferably AWS or Snowflake)

Desirable

Prior experience in using Agile methodology

Previous insurance or financial services industry experience
