Data Centre Engineer
North are looking for an experienced cabling engineer to work closely with our customers in resolving requirements, faults, moves and changes. Focus on observing and achieving the customer service level agreement is paramount.
North operate a 4 on 4 off shift pattern which covers 24 hours per day x 7 days per week x 365 days per year. An annual shift allowance of 25% of basic salary is applicable to account for the unsociable hours.
Data Centre Engineer Responsibilities:
* Installation of fibre and copper patching (add moves and changes)
* Technical support and troubleshooting
* Database management – updating job progress using our unique cable management database plus customer application tools (training will be provided)
Shifts
* 07:30am To 17:30pm
* 15:30pm To 01:30am
* 19:00pm To 05:00am
* 22:00pm To 08:00am
Data Centre Engineer Skills:
* Moves, Adds and Changes
* Copper and fibre structured cabling network infrastructures
* Call management ticketing system, ideally Service First but not essential as training will be provided
* Operating knowledge and experience of a range of hand-held testers is vital
* Excellent customer service skills, including written and oral communication
* Strong PC skills with working knowledge of databases and MS Excel, Word and Outlook
* Excellent problem-solving skills whilst working under pressure
* Ability to work effectively both within a team and using own initiative
* Pride in themselves and their work.
* Highly organized with ability to meet strict deadlines
* Detail conscious
* Positive “can-do” attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and technologies
