Data Engineering Manager

Data Idols are working with a global publishing company to recruit a Data Engineering Manager. You will be leading a team of Data Engineers to help design and build analytic solutions for the company.

The Opportunity

Within the role of a Data Engineering Manager, you will drive the high standard of team outcomes, manage conflicts between business and tech priorities and establish a scalable, flexible, and technological roadmap with architecture business partners. Not only will you be working on the strategic level of the company but also on the tactile level with hands-on analysis, coaching, mentoring and leadership of the engineering resources.

Skills and Experience

Extensive experience in areas of resource management, team building and leadership.
Demonstratable experience developing full time and contract engineering teams from the ground up. Significant experience/background in developing data and business intelligence solutions.
Highly literate in SQL Server 2016 and above.
Experience in leading and driving Agile delivery methodology and practices.
Demonstratable experience of developing relationships and positively influence key, strategic position holders across global locations and different functions.
Experience delivering cloud-based data services (Azure strongly preferred).
Experience using tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Spark, or comparable data integration tools.
Ability to assess, measure, and verify a variety of ideas and strategies and synthesize into an actionable technical roadmap.
Broad, deep technical knowledge and experience with a passion for data engineering and the exploration of innovative technology.
