PrestonA well known educational institution in Lancashire is currently on the lookout for an experienced and well rounded Data Platform Engineer who is going to be responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, maintenance, monitoring and modernisation of the institutions data platforms systems. Furthermore, as a Data Platform Engineer, you will also play a key role in driving, informing and implementing technological solutions into production, working in close collaboration with wider IT team and key business stakeholders

Main Duties and responsibilities as a Data Platform Engineer:

Identify, evaluate and translate business requirements to support the development, implementation, updating and testing of datasets, reports, integrations and lead on the development and implementation of the technology roadmap
Lead on the development and implementation of plans for data warehouse modernisation
Provide system administration to the data platforms and integrations, managing security permissions and role-based access.
Support the definition and development of data architecture roadmaps adhering to architecture standards
Design and produce the ETL/ELT architecture and ingestion patternsThe following skills and experience will be beneficial in this role:

Administering data warehouse platforms, carrying out requirements engineering and business process modelling activities.
Working to defined principles around data and system architecture, documentation and change controls
Providing/undertaking solution analysis, options appraisal and recommendations
