Job Description
Are you craving autonomy in your role? Do you want the opportunity to grow and expand your skillset within a company that encourages as much? Want to benefit from ongoing training and get financially rewarded for doing so?! If you’re currently nodding your head then there’s a good chance this role is for you!
ROLE: DevOps Engineer
SALARY: Up to £65,000, plus financial training incentives.
LOCATION: Luton (Remote)
Here, you’ll join a great team of likeminded individuals. These people live and breathe technology and they know that being a jack of all trades, doesn’t mean you’re a master of none.
You’ll work closely with the Development teams to design new infrastructure solutions for both web (MVC) and Azure cloud-based applications. You will be heavily involved in the business further adopting Docker, so you’ll need to be comfortable taking a lead on an important DevOps project.
You’ll need to be confident reading and writing code, ideally C# or VB. Part and parcel with this they’ll expect you to be confident with MS SQL. You will need to have worked with deployment tools like TFS, Octopus or Kubernetes. Ideally you will also have some Azure exposure, particularly Azure Application Monitoring tools like Application insights/Log Analytics.
This company puts a real emphasis on rewarding growth and progression and even offers financial incentives to those who complete the (fully paid for) IT qualifications. These financial incentives come in the form of a salary increase and a bonus! You’re going to play a big part in helping grow and mature the DevOps environment.
Here are a few of the requirements that the ideal candidate would possess:
Knowledge of automation deployment tools such as TFS (or the newer Azure DevOps), Octopus Deploy
Understanding of DevOps principles and creating CI/CD Pipelines.
Knowledge of Serverless code and microservices architecture.
Excellent knowledge of scripting language – PowerShell
Experience of Cloud based platforms (AppServices – PasS, IaC, Azure AD, etc.) in Microsoft Azure.
Understanding and ability to read programming Languages – C# .NET skills.
Experience with Advanced Azure Application Monitoring tools such as Application Insights/Log Analytics.
Good working knowledge of Windows Server Administration and specifically IIS Administration is desired.
The team are a group of self-professed nerds so if you’re mad about tech, you’ll fit in here. The business will hire for attitude and aptitude over skill set so if you’re lacking some of the skills but make up for it in enthusiasm, don’t be discouraged
