Hybrid role – 2 days a week in the office, 3 days a week at home.

About the Digital Platform Engineer role:
The mission is to transform our infrastructure into resilient, scalable, and repeatable services that support current and future business requirements.
The Digital Platform Engineer will support this mission by applying their skills and knowledge in the end-to-end design, build, support and automation of platforms and infrastructure services using technology comprising Windows, Linux, VMware, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes and Ansible to help streamline our operations and processes.
Your responsibilities as our Digital Platform Engineer will include:
DevOps toolchain access management/ DevOps toolchain support/maintenance/upgrades and overall user experience improvements
Collaborate with Vitality technical teams and 3rd party infrastructure service providers in the design, build and operation of Vitality Platform and infrastructure services within the AWS Digital environment and external cloud provisioned systems
Automate and orchestrate the delivery of infrastructure and platform services, promoting the use of IaC across all teams
Accountable for the day-to-day support, maintenance and upgrade of Vitality AWS digital infrastructure and platforms applying AWS best practice to keep tools and environments up to date
Ensuring server/application patches are kept up to date throughout the digital environment
Continuous improvement of existing processes, adding automation for example
Certificate management/API Gateway Management/Reverse Proxy Management
Provide input into the strategic direction and roadmap of technologies within area of discipline
What we're looking for in our Digital Platform Engineer:
Essential
Prior AWS experience, this role will require you to hit the ground running with this programme
SME level technology specialism
At least 3 years of DevOps experience
Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders within the organisation
