Job Description
We are recruiting for an Electronic Hardware Engineer to join our Team based in West Yorkshire.
What will you be doing in this role?
As an Electronic Hardware Engineer at Tunstall, you’ll be responsible for full lifecycle product development, from requirements analysis through to design and test of high quality and robust designs (Cradle to grave). The work you will do is vital and will make a real difference to our customers in helping us to offer life changing and life saving services.
The Ideal candidate:
You will have an in depth understanding electrical engineering and design and be a proactive individual, keen to solve problems and have a focus on the detail.
Key skills and experience:
Experience in developing embedded real-time systems, low power and mains powered products, wireless communications system
Proven experience of design ownership
Standard interfacing circuits – UART, ADC's, DAC's, I2C, SPI, Differential comms. (USB, Ethernet, RS232, RS485 etc).
Mix digital and analogue design.
Design for EMC, ESD, LVD, CE, safety approvals
RF design appreciation
SMPS (DC-DC and AC-DC) design appreciation
Schematic and PCB layout capture using CAD (Altium preferred)
Design documentation (requirement specs, design documents, TCF, test specs, etc.)
Engineering release and change control

Robust hardware design using microprocessors, cellular communications, GPS / wireless communication, embedded real-time systems, and energy efficient products
Working alongside RF, Mechanical, Firmware and Test engineers
Design for volume manufacture
Design for test & service
Obsolescence within current product
Design testing and validation
Product certification, EMC, Safety, CE, UKCA etc.
