    Location: Royston (SG8)
    Duration: Permanent
    Hours: 9am until 5:30pm (Monday to Friday)
    Salary: Competitive

    Polytec are looking for a Experienced Software Engineer for our Royston based client. You will need to be eligible for UK security clearance for this role. Experience in defence would be useful.

    Requirements:

    * Relevant first-class degree from a leading university
    * Experience using C and at least one other language as appropriate for prototyping or test harness creation (C++, MATLAB, Python or Simulink)
    * A depth of experience in at least two of the following:
    – system architecture, requirements and interfaces,
    – firmware and / or embedded software
    – development of applications for Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) or bare metal,
    – Software Defined Radio (SDR)
    – debugging embedded software,
    – interfacing to standard peripherals such as SPI, I2C, UART etc.
    – optimisation for resource constrained applications
    – good knowledge of standard algorithms,
    – ability to develop new and / or adapt existing algorithms.
