Job Description

DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We want purpose-driven Front End Developers to join our DWP Digital community. You'll build user-focused journeys that help millions of people access support, payments, and get into work.

Development. Writing Code. Projects.

You'll write quality test-driven code, using modern frameworks and development techniques within a test-driven development (TDD) environment
You'll integrate into back-end services ensuring products services are built to high standards, using modern web development techniques
You'll ensure that we produce UI components that meet Government Digital Service and modern web standards.
You'll build components with a user focus that enables a wide range of people and devices interact with them.What skills knowledge and experience do you need to show us in your application?

HTML5 with templating frameworks such as Nunjucks, CSS with pre-processor e.g. (SASS/LESS), JavaScript (client and server side)
Developed and shared quality test-driven code, using modern frameworks and development techniques utilising modern CI tooling.
Integrated into backend services, working with cross-functional teams to ensure services are built to high standards.
Worked as part of a multi-disciplinary agile team responsible for turning concepts into production-ready user-centred services.
Experience of building accessible and performant interfaces across multiple devices and browsers.
Responsible for ensuring that the design and implementation of services is consistent with standards.Details. Wages. Perks.

You'll join our teams in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield. Whichever is best for you.
