The global infrastructure manager directs the infrastructure team and implements infrastructure strategy and architecture standards and procedures for the business. Together with the infrastructure engineers, systems administrators, and network engineers you will provide a reliable a highly available server and network infrastructure service to users and external customers around the world.
This position manages the team, budget, and relationships around physical, virtual, and cloud technologies. This includes networks, servers, storage, telephony, and long-term planning of the IT Global Infrastructure department. The desired candidate manages and supports business plans, guides the strategic long-term roadmap, creates contingency plans, and ensures that the delivery of all products and services within their purview meet performance criteria based on IT metrics.
This role will be responsible for all technology aspects of Infrastructure including service management, servers, storage, network, telephony, and solution architecture. This includes leading strategy and portfolio management, service roadmap, prioritizing initiatives, budgeting, negotiation with partners and vendors, driving service maturity and service metrics, and overseeing engineering, delivery, and ongoing support and maintenance of a multi-global site strategy and infrastructure.
This role will work cross-functionally to support the corporate M&A strategy as well as cloud services and core business applications.
Manage IT Infrastructure and Security to Maximize Uptime and Protection of Data.
Provide leadership in planning and managing computer operations and application support, systems and database administration and network operations
Responsible for managing overall IT day to day operations to improve infrastructure costs, performance, and end user satisfaction, Service Measurement & Continuous Improvement including:
Performance to SLAs, Service Reviews and Benchmarking
Service Use Case Identification, Feature Sets and Value Articulation, User Experience, Focus on re-use of Service
Drives Service Delivery Operations, including:
Role development and resource planning
Hands-on technology support as a point of technical escalation
Budget and Cost Analysis, Partner and Vendor Negotiations
Ensure the infrastructure team is mitigating, monitoring, and managing infrastructure related risks.
Leads the delivery of a 24/7 sustain for all infrastructure
Builds, leads, and fosters team to deliver new end-to-end solutions that vary in complexity and cost.
Manage team resource requirements to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands.
Develops a high performing internal IT team that executes well AND provides support in the required domain
Work closely with project team members line managers for time allocation and prioritization.
At least 5 years of IT experience including managing teams responsible for architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management and infrastructure planning and operations.
Experience in areas such as network design and administration, data centre operations, database administration, and systems administration.
Expert stakeholder management, business case development, global teaming, and remote collaboration.
Direct experience with (at least three of) ITIL, strategy formulation, IT continuity management, configuration management, technical change management, contract negotiation, vendor management, new technology evaluation, project management.
Strong management and people development skills
Solid working understanding of the Technology organization and its operations. Skill in conceptualizing creative solutions as well as documenting them and presenting them to senior management.
Ability to shape a strategic vision, drive execution and lead change.
Positive influencing skills both verbally and through the preparation of written materials to build relationships, influence and negotiate.
Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
