Assure live service for customers through engendering a service protection culture throughout the change life cycle
Ensuring resources are prioritised to support resolution of live incidents, and/or problem management
Ensuring the effective use of resource within the product vertical, to deliver change efficiently and that investment cost is minimised
Ensure run cost impacts are understood, minimised and managed as part of the change lifecycle
Support the COEs in developing core change skills and competencies necessary to deliver the Investment Portfolio
Build and manage business cases for investment projects
Ensuring senior stakeholders at Exec and Board level are informed and up to date on progress, key risks and issues
Mobilise programmes and projects, ensuring efficient use of resource and that pre-requisites for delivery success are assured
Manage and engage third parties, to maximise commercial advantage and manage delivery and operational risk
Lead programme and project assurance reviews and recovery actions across portfolios to improve and recover projects and programmes
Ensure project estimates are reviewed, for accuracy and risk, throughout the lifecycle to improve forecasting
Lead and embed best practice in improving delivery quality through a culture of continuous improvement and coaching of project managers across the Product Verticals
Build, develop and maintain key relationships with the Product Vertical Leads; Business Sponsors; IT and Engineering CoEs and Digital CoE leadership to anticipate and recover potential delivery issues before they occur.
Preference is for change delivery experience in a digital/IT environment
Expert knowledge/accreditation in agile/waterfall/hybrid methodologies
Ideally educated to degree level, preferably with IT/digital domain knowledge.
Knowledge, skills and experience required
Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
Evidences ability to command respect and to create a sense of vision and purpose amongst project team
Track record in recruitment, including genuine diversity awareness/outcomes
Experienced at presenting at Exec and ideally Board level, to influence a successful outcome
Ideally networked with cross-industry organisations including Fintechs
Excellent knowledge of the technology and financial services industry, including regulatory and industry legislative issues
Ideally 10 years of relevant programme/project management experience with budgets in excess of £10M
Experience of both waterfall methodologies and agile methodologies
Strong skills in development and approval of commercial business cases
Experienced at pre-empting delivery issues and recovering poor delivery projects
Experienced in negotiating with multiple external suppliers/system integrators, with a track record of successful outcomes
Banking/financial services experience desirable, but not mandatory
Substantial understanding of commercial, financial and legislative requirements of projects
Good knowledge of project management frameworks and governance approaches
Proven understanding Risk and Issue Management.
