We're looking for a Head of Network Services to join our DWP Digital community.

We are looking for a leader who combines a strong understanding of network technologies with great leadership abilities to lead a team of product owners and delivery managers, collaborating with the network engineering teams to deliver successful outcomes for the Network function.

Our key area of responsibility is to provide a robust highly available, networks to colleagues and customers in c900 offices, 2 Data Centres and 2 resilient cloud-connect peering exchanges.

To ensure our infrastructure has the capacity and capability to support the changing needs of the DWP, we have recently deployed VMware SD-WAN across the estate, our next transformation activity over the next two years which you will oversee, will be to replace our office Lan & WiFi and refresh our Data Centre networks with the latest network solutions.

As Head of Network Services, you will be responsible for leading a team of 32 Product Owners ensuring optimum service performance of DWP Networks, which includes the following activities:

Strategic & Financial Management
Infrastructure Support
Network Delivery & Improvement

What skills, knowledge and experience do you need?

You'll be an effective leader with a strong technical awareness of networking technologies deployed in large enterprise environments who exploits value and business opportunities through adoption of networking technologies.
Experience in managing multi-million pound budgets is essential, with the financial acumen to track, analyse and report on financial spend through transparent and regular MI.
Experienced IT service management background, with essential experience in improving failing service performance and leading teams to be more preventative and proactive in improving service management.
The ability to demonstrate building capability into teams, inspiring and motivating individuals to be fully engaged and execute your vision and strategies.
Experience in strong stakeholder engagement and cross team collaboration to deliver successful outcome to all stakeholders.
A broad understanding of network technologies such as SDWAN (VMWare), Office Networks LAN & Wi-Fi, Data Centre Networks, Cloud connectivity.

We offer competitive pay of up to £89,392

You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth over £18,000 per year.
