Grade:          J

Reporting into the BCM IT Infrastructure Team Leader you will be required to support the BCM IT infrastructure and deliver IT technical services.  This is a demanding, multifunctional role covering all technical aspects of IT; Servers, Security, Networking,  PCs, laptops, printers, Wi-Fi, database administration etc.  This role is based in Beeston, but may on occasion, require travel to other locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing and monitoring the LAN, WAN, server, storage environments, utilising the tools available maintaining a lean operation. This will involve daily monitoring checks and responding to all infrastructure alerts as part of a daily routine.

Service Improvements – Identifying and supporting all IT projects that improve service to the IT function and BCM businesses as a whole, including infrastructure improvements/activities and standard IT changes.

Managing call / incident lists – Ensure that all incidents are logged and resolved with in a timely manner escalating where appropriate. Provide 3rd line support activities.

Safeguard the security of the IT Infrastructure from malicious software and physical attacks.

Coach and train non-technical colleagues and users.

Provide backup to wider IT team on routine activities.

Provide Validation support for IT audit activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A degree in Computer Science or a similar subject would be desirable; or, an equivalent qualification or real-world experience.

Specific Skills:

Some Knowledge of the following is desirable:

Virtualisation: VMWARE (preferable). Multi-Site HA Clustering

Servers: Windows Server, SQL, Windows 10, Windows 7, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DFS, Monitoring (Nagios VeeamOne HP IMC). 

Storage: (HP Storevirtual, EMC, QNAP, HP StoreEver, etc.)?

Backups: Veeam Back and Replication, Netbackup

Networking: WAN, LAN, WLAN (Aruba/Comware/Procurve preferable)

Security: Firewalls (Palo Alto Preferable), WSUS, Anti-Virus (McAfee preferable)

Experience

Experience providing 3rd line IT support, preferably in a licenced manufacturing environment, especially within the Pharmaceutical or Personal Care industry.

Experience working with an enterprise incident logging service.

Experience working in a team with technical and non-technical colleagues.
