Job Description
We are currently recruiting for an Infrastructure Engineer Technical Lead to join our IT Team and provide infrastructure technical support to our UK & Ireland business and colleagues.
What will you be doing in this role?
In this key technical role, you will be helping to implement, manage, and support Tunstall’s IT infrastructure; including but not limited to compute, storage, networking, firewalls, telephony, physical and virtual infrastructure, software and SaaS services. You will act as the point of escalation for IT team colleagues and the business for any issues relating to the company’s IT infrastructure and become a subject matter experience on our IT infrastructure.
The Ideal candidate:
To be successful in this role you will be friendly and approachable, with good communication skills, proactive and flexible in your approach to work. The ability to multi-task, plan and effectively prioritise is vital to the success of this role, as is developing your own skills and coaching others in the team. This is a technical role, so you will need to have proven experience and knowledge of server hardware (ideally HP / Dell), Windows server operating systems (2012/R2, 2016 & 2019), Active Directory (including Group Policy), DFS, ADFS, DHCP, DNS, IIS, and SAN storage.
Key skills and experience:
Essential –
Strong working knowledge of the following:
Server hardware (ideally HP / Dell)
Windows Server operating systems (2012/R2, 2016 & 2019)
Active Directory support and management including Group Policy
DFS, ADFS, DHCP, DNS, IIS
SAN Storage (ideally HP, Dell) configuration and support
Virtualisation technologies including VMware vSphere & Microsoft Azure installation and support,
Backup technologies (Veeam),
TCP/IP networking. LAN / WAN technologies inc wireless,
Experience using Enterprise software deployment e.g SCCM, SOTI, Desktop Central,
Cloud Technologies; Office 365, Microsoft Teams,
Security patching WSUS,
Enterprise Anti-Virus deployments,
Remote Desktop Services installation and support,
High attention to detail – able to follow processes & troubleshoot thoroughly,
Analytical and problem-solving skills,
Flexible and agile attitude in respect to responsibilities and change,
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, Desirable –
Citrix Xen App
Linux (NGINX)
Some knowledge of cyber security operations and vulnerability tools – Nessus for example.
MPLS networks
Telephony, Mitel / Siemens / Asterix PBX/ SIP, ISDN, NGN platforms
Database (MS SQL) skills desirable
ITIL Service framework and Change Management practices
Supporting customers in a managed service / cloud environment
Cisco CCNA, CCNP certification

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Implement changes, manage, and support Tunstall’s IT infrastructure,
Resolution of escalated Infrastructure-related support incidents and requests within agreed SLAs,
Contribute to/create installation instructions and deployment strategies,
Deliver IT Infrastructure projects according to defined processes, best practices and frameworks,
Participate in continuous improvement activity,
Maintain IT asset & CMDB records tracking hardware & software licences and compliance,
Ensure information/Data/Systems security through supporting best practice monitoring and alerting and undertaking infrastructure hardening activities,
Maintain Infrastructure systems at recommended anti-virus and security patch levels,
Perform regular compliance checks and vulnerability tests including penetration testing,
Monitoring system backups and maintenance of backup infrastructure,
Create & maintain system documentation & DR procedures and perform scheduled testing,
Assure compliance with Information Governance such as PCI DSS, ISO 20000, ISO 27001 and emerging standards,
Daily checks and monitoring to ensure system integrity,
Participate in Tunstall UK IT on-call rota,
Any other reasonable duties as required.
