Job Description

As IT Solutions Architect you will be responsible for ensuring Greencore’s business strategy achieves its goals through the proper architecture of its technology systems. This includes regulating our technology environment, increasing flexibility and reducing costs.

Leading our IT Architecture team responsible to design and develop our IT architecture (integrated process, applications, data and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.

Ensures our Architects performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new products/services, applications, and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies

Key Accountabilities:

Assisting management and stakeholders in evaluating the business’ mission and ensuring that the company uses its IT assets effectively
To define and inspire the modernisation of our application estate, ensure we adopt modern application design principles whilst determining the technology system architecture and functional design needed to support and meet company business goals.
To define our future state for both applications and infrastructure, and steppingstones as to how we will get there.
Ensure our technology investments are designed and implemented using appropriate techniques and technologies.
Designing services that take into consideration the full lifecycle, including TCO and supportability.
Focuses on reducing complexity in the estate and promotes standardisation of systems, processes and data.
Delivers designs that provide appropriate levels of security, resilience and  recovery capabilities.
Ensures designs take into consideration and mitigate known risks and issues highlighted by our IT Security policies.
Working towards ensuring we have adequate risk management from Cyber and Information breaches.
Evaluating existing IT systems for exposure or weaknesses that could compromise performance, efficiency or security.
Working in collaboration with our IT Delivery function to ensure Design principles are appropriate and followed as we introduce IT services into live Operations
Working collaboratively with our IT and Security Director to ensure our IT solutions remain secure, and factor ever changing external risk requirements into our designs
Active leadership in the overall IT function, giving guidance, support and assistance in the definition and execution of the overarching IT strategy & risk management to improve IT services in their totality.

What we’re looking for
Extensive experience of autonomously leading and owning the enterprise architecture of a significant applications estate. This includes managing the value, opportunities, inventory, roadmaps, rationalisation, and supporting improved total cost.
Proven track record of application and infrastructure design in a complex and fast-moving environment.
Experience of technology supporting business transformation on a significant scale, including ERP consolidation or implementations specifically, and ERP integration to the wider business application estate
Significant experience in developing IT security strategy, setting security policies, assessing, and applying security standards across all aspects of IT services.
Strong communicator experienced at board level, able to articulate both strategic and operational aspects of information technology and security to technical and non-technical people
Good leadership qualities with the ability to influence colleagues and business leaders.
Able to demonstrate the how to apply innovation and creative thinking and manage risk in complex none perfect environments
leading the development of complex application architectures in modern compute paradigms i.e. cloud, microservices
Experience in an engineering or process manufacturing environment, including automation would be useful.
Ability to forge strong relationships and demonstrate teamwork with colleagues, business functions, business leaders and 3rd parties.
