IT Engineer – Hybrid working

Working in partnership with one of the UK's Top 50 Asset Finance providers, we are currently on the lookout for an ambitious, and focused IT Engineer to join an established internal IT team, with good processes and expertise, to assist and undertake key transformational projects, with a focus on PaaS, SaaS and the Zero Trust security model. You will join at an exciting period of growth and at the forefront of technological innovation within the Finance industry

Key Responsibilities of the IT Engineer:

To assist the Head of IT to deliver roadmap objectives which include:
On-premises data migration to OneDrive/SharePoint and the creation of an extranet for external sharing
Microsoft 365 Groups re-rollout for the business
Configuring remaining business systems to use SSO
Telephony migration to an Omnichannel solution involving Microsoft Teams and 3rd party solutions
Deploying a Cisco Meraki network to their Newport Office
Preparing the business for ISO27001 certification
Research, provide proof of concept and pilot configurations, policies, and scripts before making them live
To work closely with the IT Team, maintain documentation and create KB articles as well as sharing knowledge and training junior members
Help provide IT support to the wider business, including ad-hoc assistance with the helpdesk and on-site cover in our Newport officeThe successful IT Engineer will have:

2/3 years' experience working within a 2nd line IT Helpdesk role
Excellent knowledge and experience of Microsoft SaaS and Paas (Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory are essential
Competent at scripting e.g PowerShell (various modules, Azure, Exchange Online)
Ideally have some programming knowledge
Proven ability and experience to roll out new systems
Strong all round IT skills including networking and hardware experience
Proactive and self-motivated with excellent time management skills
Confident and personable with the ability to encourage and mentor others and transfer knowledge
Educated to A Level or an equivalent IT related qualification
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
