Our client provides IT support, makes software and websites for companies in the Southeast. They are looking for an IT Helpdesk Engineer apprentice to join their team and help support internal users and external clients. The IT Helpdesk Engineer will be responsible for basic IT diagnosis and fix, undertaking routine maintenance of equipment, support of common software packages used and other general tasks as appropriate under the supervision/instruction of senior staff.
Provide basic IT support alongside senior staff.
To work effectively and productively with the rest of the team to make sure all support calls are escalated where appropriate.
Learn to take ownership of client issues, perform technical diagnosis and fixes
Learn how to keep all client & inhouse systems up to date with relevant security patches.
Assist in the deployment of computer hardware and software.
Learn to repair and maintain equipment.
Proactive monitoring of servers, network equipment & backups
Document all calls on our Helpdesk system.
To ensure all SLAs are met.
Limited technical knowledge e.g., understand the basic PC and software.
Able to use work processing packages, email, web browsing.
Able to follow straightforward oral and written instructions.
Able to lift and handle IT equipment as required including assisting with receiving and storing deliveriesof new equipment

GCSE grades 4-9 or equivalent in English and Maths
No formal qualifications required as on job training will be provided.
