As IT Operations Manager, you will lead the Technical/End User/Infrastructure team, developing innovative and strategic responses to support the business including specialist technical advice, insight and expertise to ensure the delivery of organisational priorities and goals.
Michael Page Technology are delighted to have partnered with a leading Manchester based organisation who are looking to recruit a new IT Operations Manager (IT Infrastructure).
What you'll be doing:
As IT Operations Manager, you will support:
Over 9000 users of PCs, laptops, mobile devices and Wyse Citrix terminals across the organisations network and remotely.
Over 300 applications delivered directly to staff and end users.
c1000 servers located across 2 datacentres in Manchester.The IT Operations Team provide and support the services' infrastructure platforms and applications that IT and the Business require to carry out their day to day business, both internally and externally.
These platforms / applications consist of:
Middleware / VMWare
SAP for example and approximately 300 other applications.Furthermore the team provides and supports the physical placement of all infrastructure within the data centre.
Key Skills & Experience:
Ability to establish the contribution that IT can make to business objectives including the conduction of feasibility studies and the preparation of business cases.
Skills to play an active role in improving the interface between the business and IT, including the articulation of the benefits of IT infrastructure to the business.
Ability to coordinate the identification and assessment of new and emerging hardware, software and communications technologies, products, methods and techniques.
Ability to take action to exploit IT opportunities that will have a measurable effect on operational effectiveness, with associated benefits to the business.
Ability to advise managers about the implications of planned IT-enabled change on the business, on processes and on customers.
Skills to manage and configure products and technical functions for a Microsoft and / or Unix environment and other business systems, including the setting of standards and procedures.
Recent experience of running infrastructure / application and or operational support teams in an IT environment.
Significant experience of IT Service Operations, and how an IT installation works across 7*24.
Experience of service monitoring, alerting and recovery in a pressurised environment.
To work flexibly including out of hours and bank holidays as required to meet customer demand, service management and potential incidents up-to a Major Incident.
Set clearly defined objectives, plans activities and projects well in advance and takes account of risks and changing circumstances; identifies and organises resources and manages time effectively monitoring performance against milestones and deadlines.Job Offer
