The Opportunity

Roke has a small team, based in the main Romsey office, dedicated to IT Security. We are building our monitoring capability and working to improve the security of diverse IT networks in use at Roke sites across multiple locations in the UK.
We are looking to increase the team with someone who will:
Work within the IT Security team to monitor networks, investigate alerts and resolve issues.
Maintain and optimise existing tooling and identify gaps in coverage. Work with the team and suppliers to find and implement the best tools to fill these gaps.
Support the business and project teams in identifying secure ways to achieve their project objectives.
Work with the team and other teams on site to maintain or gain accreditations (e.g. ISO27001, Cyber Essentials Plus, NIST (Apply online only))
Review and assess vulnerabilities and their potential impact on the Roke infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in an IT/IT Security role
Knowledge of typical technologies used in a corporate network; servers, storage, networking, virtualisation, endpoints, cloud technologies
Some knowledge of IT Security specific toolsets; SIEM, firewalls, AV, network access control, endpoint monitoring and protection
Good analytical and reporting skills
An enquiring mind and be a critical thinker; questioning how we do things and where we can make improvements.
