TQR are working exclusively in partnership with Flann Microwave, a UK family-owned company based in Bodmin Cornwall, which currently employs 60 plus personnel and has been based on this site since 1970. They are committed to offering secure, meaningful employment in the area.
Flann are seeking to recruit an IT Support Engineer to put the people in the business in a position where they can do a good job, in terms of providing the IT Infrastructure and support that they need. This is an office based position, Monday to Thursday, so this could be an opportunity to strike the perfect work/life balance, with 3 days off per week….

Recent projects included work for NASA and developing ‘new to world designs’ to support security at a future FIFA World Cup. The Company’s principal products are passive waveguide components and antennas in the frequency ranges from 500 MHz to 500 GHz and beyond. Key Responsibilities:
* Provide, maintain, and support IT infrastructure and devices.
* Support and develop the company network infrastructure.
* Ensure the security of company data by employing appropriate processes and technologies.
* Protect the Company against cyber threats by working to achieve, for example managing within Cyber Essentials Certification.
* Manage, source, and maintain proprietary software and manage license renewals.
* Manage the MS Office 365 platform.
* Manage and liaise with 3rd party support companies where appropriate.
* Support the Company telephone system, hardware and software.
* Support and (with the Facilities Team) maintain the Company CCTV.
* Support users by providing 1st / 2nd line support.
* Maintain asset register.
* Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.
* Enable Marketing to maintain our own web site and intranet.
* Provide support to in-house developed software – SQL databases, Microsoft Access and .NET Platform.
* Exercise a duty of care to themselves and the rest of the Team.
Essential Experience / Qualifications and Attributes Required:
* Proven experience in providing 1st and 2nd line Support.
* Excellent communication, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
* Outstanding organisational and time-management skills.
* Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required.
* In-depth technical understanding of providing infrastructure to business users.
* Understanding of IT principles and an ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience.
* Good knowledge of cyber security and data privacy principles.
* A Degree standard intellect (industry recognised certification an advantage, CompTIA A+, Microsoft certified IT professional, CCNA).
