Job Description

Role: IT Support Technician
Location: Birmingham – Onsite
Salary: up to £27,000 DOE
Type: Permanent
Premier Group are currently engaged with a large established client in the Birmingham area, who require an IT Support Technician to join the team to support the infrastructure team and wider business.
The successful IT Support Technician will serve as the first point of contact for customers in need of technical support, whether that be over the phone, in person or remotely via their ITSM tool. You will be expected to provide solutions whilst also adhering to strict SLAs.
IT Support Technician – Responsibilities:

Prioritise and manage workload effectively ensuring open incidents, BAU tasks and mini projects can be managed simultaneously.
Build relationships across the business whilst providing help and advice in technology best practises.
Assist in the deployment and onboarding of new employees
Carry out routine tasks such as system and performance monitoring, escalating issues where appropriate.
Asset management, Maintaining hardware asset registers across the business.
Work with the Team Leader and management to support the delivery of all departmental projects.
Provide reports and solutions for reoccurring incidents, finding root cause analysis.
Coordinate the IT estate to ensure continuous department standards are met which includes but is not limited to comms organisation, cabling, naming conventions etc.
Work with 3rd party supplies on systems issues which impact day to day business operations.
Produce and maintain departmental documentation as agreed with the Infrastructure and Service Desk team leader.
Undertake any other duties as may, from time to time, which may be required by the company. 
IT Support Technician – Skills & Experience:

Strong understanding of ITSM tools
Windows 10/11
Active Directory, Group Policy
Office 365
Azure AD
Knowledge of basic networking– DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP (experience with Meraki routers & Switches desirable)
Windows Server 2016 / 2019
System Monitoring – PRTG
Backups – Veeam
