Role: Java Engineer
Location: Office in Central London (2 days per week in office)
Reporting into: Engineering Manager
Salary: circa £50-55k (flex) + discretionary bonus

An established scale-up that is disrupting the retail industry by ensuring their suppliers are paid fairly. They pay their suppliers 45x higher than their main competitor to encourage and support more independent retailers. They are a fully digital retailer, so engineering-first and the majority of their investment in tech.

Team size and structure:
There are circa 80 people in the company in total. The Backend team has 4 developers, Frontend has 3 developers, Product has 4 heads, plus there are two QAs and a Platform Engineer.

The role:
You will work on new greenfield products and improve existing applications. Their environment is extremely fast-paced so you won’t find yourself getting bored. They’re a scale up so you’ll be working within a small team, which is why we need people who are keen to take ownership of new projects end to end.

About you:
You are a Java Engineer with knowledge of Spring Boot, APIs and Microservices. Far more important than technical skills, is a real enthusiasm for learning new things and working in a team. This company has an extremely collaboraative environment and are looking for you to reflect this mindset as well. 

Tech stack (you don't have to have experience with all of these): Java, Restful API, Node, Kotlin, Angular 8, JavaScript, TypeScript, AWS (EC2/ Recognition / S3 / CloudFront / Nginx and more), MongoDB, Snowflake, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Gradle, Cypress, Swift and more!
