Java Developer for Fixed Income Rates and Credit Trading Desk

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Java Developer to join our client's global Fixed Income Rates and Credit markets technology team. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for developing new applications and enhancing existing solutions to support our trading desks. You will work closely with business stakeholders and collaborate with other IT teams globally to deliver innovative solutions that drive business value.

Responsibilities:

* Develop solutions to key business challenges using Java applications or the ION toolset

* Refactor and enhance existing components and solutions

* Manage UAT and demonstration sessions with key stakeholders

* Elicit key information from business stakeholders, transforming these into concise IT requirements

* Collaborate with other global IT teams

* Assist production operations team in rollout and production support

Qualifications:

* Minimum of 5 years of Java experience

* Expert-level knowledge of ION Trading / ION MarketView Platform

* Good understanding of low-latency, multi-threaded code

* Sound knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns. Exposure to functional programming is highly desirable

* Experience of working in agile teams

Desirable qualifications:

* Good understanding of bond pricing, ideally with PXE

* Solid understanding of Rates and Credit bonds and derivatives

* Detailed understanding of the nuances of trading venues such as Bloomberg, TradeWeb

* Experience in automated testing and continuous integration

* Experience of Python, Perl and other scripting languages

* Experience of Kafka
