Job Description
Our client is a leading management software company based in Tavistock, Devon. An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Apps & Infrastructure team for a Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer.
You will be joining a fast-growing software company with a UK reach to over 20,000 customers. Supplying to a market that helps the quality of life to others, offering outstanding customer service and the best software to ensure their clients can provide the best possible care.
Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for a broad range of day-to-day business critical technical operations managing company infrastructure. Additionally, leveraging cloud native management tools & techniques to optimise the cloud platform automating the provisioning, testing & deployment of new & enhanced infrastructure as well as automating & scripting routine operating procedures to drive continuous service improvements.
With privileged access to critical customer environments close attention to detail with a mature, measured & calm approach is required to maintain reliable & high-performance customer access.
Technical Skills
* Experience working with main cloud platform providers preferably Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, Amazon web services.
* Managing installation, configuration, administration, upgrade & monitoring of cloud platforms.
* Working within DevOps, GitOps & infrastructure as code concepts.
* Setting up tools & required infrastructure for internal service users.
* Managing automated infrastructure performance statistics & security schedules. Taking necessary action to prevent any impact to service.
* Experience of Microsoft Office 365 security centre Business Premium. Using the insights to ensure systems & processes are safe & address levels of cybersecurity threads.
* Working knowledge & adherence to process protocols, particularly as required for record keeping, audibility & meeting ISO 27001 & Cyber Essentials Plus.
* Participation in ISO risk management, this role also serves as our Data Protection officer to facilitate GDPR compliance and data cyber security requirements.

* Working knowledge of SQL server.
* Understanding of Agile methodology & practices.
* API gateways & Load balancing.
* Windows & Linux Administration skills

Other considerations
* Our client operates a first responder roster in Infrastructure to provide 24/7/365 support to respond to operational & environmental service requirements. This post maybe part of an on-call rolling roster & the post holder would be required to participate in an on call rolling roster within the departmental Team.
* Working in a highly diverse, fast paced, experienced team, collaborative working is important & as such we do require 5 days a week spent in the office at this stage, reviewable at later phases to a flexible hybrid approach of 3-4 days a week.

* Recruitment will be 2 staged with telephone/ remote initial consultations, followed by face-to-face interview for those who demonstrate the necessary passion & skill sets required.
Job Type
Full-time 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 09:00 to 17:00 (30-minute lunch break), permanent.
Remuneration
* Base Salary: £30,000 per annum
* Company Pension
* Holidays: 23 days per annum plus 8 bank holidays

* Probationary period: 3 months
* Notice period: 1 month
