Their growing project delivery teams are looking for an experienced Software Development Team Lead to shape and guide delivery of our software solutions.

As a Software Development Team Lead you'll work front-line with our clients and be instrumental in the design and delivery of all aspects of their software solutions. You will be part of a diverse, multidisciplinary team working closely with experienced Architects and Technical Delivery Managers on solutions that genuinely make a difference to people's lives; from helping victims of violent crime, tackling air pollution in our cities, to helping nuclear facilities better use their data to improve safety.

Working on leading edge solutions with modern technologies, you'll be able to both deepen your expertise in particular languages (e.g. Python, Ruby, Java, .NET), platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) and tooling (e.g. Ansible, CircleCI, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps) as well as have the opportunity to gain experience in new areas.

Position:

As a Lead Developer/Development Team Lead, you will work front-line with our clients and be instrumental in the design and delivery of all aspects of our software solutions. You will lead and be part of a diverse, multi-disciplinary team working closely with experienced Architects and Technical Delivery Managers on solutions that genuinely make a difference to people's lives; from helping victims of violent crime, tackling air pollution in our cities, to helping nuclear facilities better use their data to improve safety.

You will have:

5+ years' commercial development experience using industry leading frameworks and languages (e.g., Django/Python, Java, Node, .Net)
Experience and willingness to be a 'hands-on' full-stack developer, leading technical teams by example and acting as a role model for software engineering best practice
Software engineering best practice (e.g., design patterns, microservice architectures, secure by design approaches, NCSC Cloud Security Principles etc.)
Experience in delivering using DevOps, CI/CD, test automation etc.
Experience of using cloud-native SaaS and PaaS (ideally in Azure)
Experience in database design and implementation (SQL and NoSQL)
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

Having experience and awareness of the following would also be desirable:

Experience of working in Agile Product Development team, delivering through product increments
Awareness of geospatial data and technologies (e.g. ESRI, FME, etc.)
Experience of REST API Design and Delivery using Azure cloud-native technologies
