    Job Description

    Lead Site Reliability Engineer, Python, Azure, Kubernetes, Remote

    A Lead Site Reliability Engineer with a strong background in software engineering, is required to join a pioneering technology company, who have developed an innovative portfolio of products used within the life science industry.

    The Role

    Working fully remotely in a predominantly hands-on capacity, the Lead Site Reliability Engineer will be the focal point for a dedicated team of Site Reliability Engineers – a brand new function – established to work with the other engineering areas of DevOps, Development and Testing to embed reliability within the product lifecycle.  Operating critical software products and platforms within agreed SLOs, the Site Reliability Engineering team will spend 50% of their time building software in Python to automate manual work, with the other 50% providing operational support to the software products themselves.

    What’s required of the Lead Site Reliability Engineer?

    SRE and/or DevOps experience, coupled with a strong background in software engineering
    Strong Python development skills (to create unit Tests, integration tests, static analysis and resilience tests, etc.) with additional experience with Go an added benefit
    Azure
    Kubernetes
    IaC tools such as Terraform
    Any experience of having previously led a team – especially within SRE – would be advantageous
