Job Description

Machine Learning Engineer – Climate Tech

I'm working with an organization looking to make a real difference to peoples daily lives, financial situations and ultimately the environment. My Client are a Technology organization based out of Oxford but operating a remote first policy. They use machine learning and IoT technologies to allow the rooms in our houses, offices and commercial buildings to be heated intelligently. They operate a smart approach to heating rooms that saves energy, money and makes people generally more comfortable in their day to day lives.

This role will be working directly under their Machine Learning Lead. It'll be using the vast amount of data they've collected to build out Machine Learning models and pipelines that'll dictate which rooms are heated and where. You'll be working on classical machine learning algorithms but eventually, once enough proper data is available, be working on Deep Learning models. You should be sufficient in Python, have an understanding of clean coding practices and ideally some knowledge about cloud architecture. They use GCP, but if it doesn't matter which platform you're used to.

The salary for this role is between £35,000 – £55,000. You can be based anywhere in the UK but must be able to get to Oxford a few times a year for company meet-ups etc. You'll be offered some solid career progression and as the company grows, so will you.

If the following sounds like you:

BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, AI or other Relevant discipline
Demonstrable experience working across applied Machine Learning problems – 1+ Year necessary
Experience using Python (PyTorch, Pandas, NumPy etc), Deep Learning tools & SQL/Database tools
Solid understanding of an agile environment and familiarity with modern development practises (CI/CD, DevOps etc)
Very strong communication skills, experience of stakeholder engagement and a passion for making the world a better placeThen get in touch ASAP. My client are interviewing for this position as early as next week and hope to have a start date lined up ready for the new year. Contact Kieran Haynes to find out anymore information.
