Position: Network Engineer (strong Firewall experience required)
Suitable for: Firewall Security Engineer / Firewall Engineer / Cyber Security Engineer / Cyber Security Analyst / Cyber Security Specialist / Security Systems Engineer / SOC Engineer / SOC Analyst / Information Security Engineer
Location: Harrogate (You must be within a commutable distance to Harrogate to apply for this role)
Salary: Up to £45,000 + on-call allowance
Our client is a Cyber Security Consultancy and Management Services provider. They are looking for an experienced Network Engineer / Firewall Engineer to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a variety of experiences in a fast-growing dedicated security company, with access to training including labs, materials and further certifications. Network Engineer / Firewall Engineer will also be able to work alongside industry experts by joining this experienced security team and will have the opportunity to progress into specialist roles.
Essential Experience / Attributes Required:
3+ years experience as a Firewall Engineer or a Network Engineer with strong firewall experience in a technical support role
Experience managing and troubleshooting Firewalls including Palo Alto, Fortinet and/or Check Point
Security certifications for vendors such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco.
Desirable:
Ambitious, inquisitive and self-motivated to learn more
Cisco CCNA, CCNP or other similar networking qualifications
Any security qualifications such as Security+, CEH, SANS, CISSP, ISO27001
Excellent communication skills as this is a customer facing role
Advanced understanding of data networks and communications
The Role:
As a Network Engineer / Firewall Engineer you will be working directly with customers and members of the team in the Yorkshire based Security operation Centre to assist with the following activities:
Configure and provide administration and support for customer networks and firewall devices.
Liaise with customers on a daily basis in a support capacity
Generate reports for both technical and non-technical customer stakeholders
Training will be provided for the successful candidate to ensure they can help operationally support other security toolsets within the Security Operations functions, this includes:
Assist with internal and external audits relating to information security
Using a SIEM to monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorised or illegal activity
Investigating security alerts and providing incident response
Testing and evaluating security products
