A global leader in one of the most progressive industries in the UK requires a talented Database Administrator to define and deliver an applications architecture that supports the global scaling of their foremost platform, hosted on AWS, and meeting standards and requirements for security, resilience and regulatory compliance.

You will also be required to Identify and ensure the use of established best practices and patterns, defining standards and guidelines for delivery teams. Assessing and recommending emerging practices and technology

This position will join a dynamic and supportive environment with lots of exciting projects to get stuck into. Currently the team is working remotely, with once-a-month travel

Your responsibilities will include…
Maintenance, administration and troubleshooting of the mission-critical Oracle Exadata and AWS Database platforms, performance tuning, and routing tasks.
Support for application releases, including managing schema changes across all database environments, providing expert support to internal departments to ensure SQL performs.
Support and technical leadership for major infrastructure projects, including upgrades and patching of the Exadata database environments and migration of on-premise database into AWS Oracle
Learn and apply nest practices across the entire stack.
Working with on-perm and cloud solutions – primarily AWS based
Full lifecycle development and end-to-end testing

What you will bring to the role?
Strong skills in Oracle data replication technologies including Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle Data Guard
Experience in the financial services sector
AWS native database technologies
Experience of Exadata
Experience using Oracle Enterprise Manager
