We're helping the UK's leading and best-known food on the go retailer recruit a highly skilled Platform Engineer, responsible for helping shape and modernise core technical infrastructure using public cloud technologies, with a primary focus on the security, automated management, and robust monitoring of platforms.

This is a key role as part of the Platform & Infrastructure Services team at the Newcastle Head Office, hybrid working can be facilitated. Offering a salary up to £40,000 plus a benefits package including…

Responsibilities
– Contribute to the architecture, design and implementation of security tooling across systems, including both on premise and cloud hosted platforms
– Support new service implementation to ensure security, monitoring and management standards are built in from the ground up
– Lead on the design and implementation of new automated management and monitoring platforms and approaches, with the support of other specialist teams and partners
– Respond to security incident reports to ensure a proactive and preventative approach to risks
– Create and implement platform specific remediation plans for security risks.

– Solid understanding of public cloud technologies, premise infrastructure, virtualisation technologies, and Windows architecture
– Well-versed in cyber security, with technical knowledge of security systems and vulnerability/security incident remediation, understanding the need to balance cyber risk against business functional requirements
– Understanding of the most common tools and approaches to automation in public cloud, and the concepts around Infrastructure as Code approaches and toolsets
– Strong service skills and able to highlight and drive service improvements using technology
