Location: Bristol, Wiltshire area

We are working on behalf of an expanding Management and Technology Consultancy based in Surrey looking to take on a PrincipalInfrastructure Consultant.  The role provides you with the opportunity to provide support to a wide range of high-profile UK defence organisations. Your help will enable them to get the maximum benefit from their technology investments, and in doing so, play a key role in nationally critical projects which make a real difference to people’s everyday lives.

With expertise in translating business requirements into technology requirements, and implementation and support of core systems and networking, you will be responsible for ensuring the security, stability and performance of all systems.

This role will require you to lead assignments and be responsible for supervising direct reports whilst ensuring the overall success of the engagement.

The consultancy’s position as a client-sideadvisor means that your role will involve significant stakeholder engagement, dealing directly with the client, including resolving day-day issues involved in assignment delivery and developing follow-on opportunities, so excellent interpersonal and influencing skills are essential.

You will typically work on client sites, co-located with other project members, including client staff, colleagues and other suppliers.  Due to the nature of client-side working, travel within the UK should be expected.

Responsibilities:

Lead on the implementation and support of the core systems and networking to ensure the security, stability and performance of all systems.
Implement and support key security improvements across all core systems and infrastructure.
Management of an IP network.
Provide 3rd Line technical support, carrying out diagnostic routines and processes to correct complex issues and problems
Deliver technology design and implementation including future forecasting requirements
Work to resolve security vulnerabilities identified by vulnerability scanning solutions and penetration testing

Experience:

Substantial experience in an ICT Infrastructure role
Overarching knowledge of private cloud architecture including Automation, SDN and resource management
A good understanding of cyber security as it pertains to Hardware and Software configurations
Strong understanding of Group Policy, including being up to date with new features and best practices
Experienced in managing an IP network

The candidates must be eligible and willing to gain high level UK Security Clearance to apply for this position.
