Principal Security Engineer | Up to £90k | Fully Remote | Games Studio

The Principal Security Engineer position, reporting to the Head of Security, involves close collaboration with IT engineering and external partners to create and uphold the necessary services for responding to security alerts and resolving incidents.

Key Duties Include:
Create and put in place technical security measures.
Tackle complex and unusual problems pertaining to the domain.
A background in creating and preserving security procedures and strategies based on standard information security management frameworks (ISO 270x, SOC2, ITIL, COBIT, NIST or CIS).
Establish and oversee procedures for a Managed Security Operations Centre.
Provide a supporting role for the contracted SOC.
Understanding of security groups, subnets, and routing tables, among other AWS networking and security configurations.
Accountable for monitoring, identifying, containing, and resolving security incidents that the SOC identifies.
Requirements:
Seven or more years of professional experience in the information and cyber security fields. It would be helpful to have practical expertise in network administration, security operations centres, and IT system management.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with engineers to evaluate the trade-offs of various solutions and provide the best design that satisfies the team's (non-functional) needs as well as the necessary security needs.

Strong presenting and writing abilities. Must be able to communicate with people at all organisational levels and occasionally take on the role of a technical writer.
Possess the capacity to effectively communicate with team members from all backgrounds, including non-technical ones, in a brief, clear, and intelligent manner.
Familiarity with SIEM and log aggregators (preferable ELK).
Working knowledge of the toolsets for managing identity and access control, anti-malware, APT, vulnerability/compliance, and patches.
Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Bash, Perl, etc).
Desirable Skills:
Proven background in security operations.
IAM implementation, Linux systems, Hashicorp Technologies (Consul, Terraform, Vault, Packer), containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and container management (EKS, secrets management), as well as knowledge of and expertise with AWS services and orchestration tools (Puppet, Ansible).
Automation to increase efficiency and modern engineering processes. Mindset of infrastructure as code. For practical activities and tool integrations, use code or scripting
