Job Description

My client are a world leading supplier of Integrated IT (ERP) Systems to the Metals industry and providers of a suite of software products providing enterprise wide needs of manufacturers and distributors across the globe.
POSITION:
Seeking a Product Owner to join the expanding team, the role is seeking extensive experience of requirements analysis and design in an ERP type package, You will be expected to gain a deep understanding on the job of both the metal industry and the company products, taking responsibility for designing fixes, enhancements and major new modules.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work individually and/or as part of a team on:
· Analysis of requirements
· Local and international customer visit expectations
· Gather requirements from all stakeholders, including customers and internal teams
· Assess the feasibility and risk of requirements, including how new developments will affect and/or interact with existing system functionality
· Create analysis documents for large-scale development projects as a communication and review tool for customers, consultants, etc
· Including flow diagrams, wireframes, etc
· Provide presentations to management, staff, customers or prospects
· Call and/or chair meetings with internal & external stakeholders (with minutes & follow-up actions)
· Help developers to interpret designs/stories (work on or assist with the decomposition of stories)
· Assist with the creation of release documentation, videos, manuals, etc
· Design database changes and additions
· Balance stakeholder requests with business needs (ROI, development resources, etc).
· Build excellent working relationships with:
o JMS management team
o CTO
o R&D manager
o Product Manager
o Other Product Owners
o Development and QA teams
o Consultants
o Customers
o Third party development teams
· Gain a comprehensive understanding of both products and industry
· Keep up to date with new technologies.
Design
· Create Epics, Use Cases and User Stories as required
· Create UX/UI designs.
Follow Agile Processes and Procedures
· Perform the product owner role within one or more agile teams
· Use cases
· User stories
· Outline test plans
· Estimation and planning (e.g. 'poker planning')
· Daily standup meetings
· Ensure timely delivery of work within development release cycles.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
· Previous experience with ERP design and development covering Purchasing, Inventory Control, Sales, Despatch, Invoicing, etc
· Production and/or Manufacturing experience would be very beneficial e.g. MRP, Bill of Materials, Time Recording, etc
· Experience of Agile design methodologies
· Experience of databases, and designing SQL data structures, indexes, etc
· Full clean driving licence, ability to attend meetings and training in various locations when appropriate
· Passport and ability to travel abroad (infrequent).
Beneficial:
· Certified Scrum Product Owner
· Experience of Jira
· UI/UX design experience
· Web application design or development
· Mobile application design or development
· Experience of shop-floor integration (e.g. barcoding, handheld devices, machine interfaces, etc)
· Experience of production/material optimisation requirements, tools, bar cutting, plate profiling, slitting, etc
· Experience of system integration, for example EDI, remote services, ETL, etc
· Knowledge of the Windows operating system and familiarity with PC hardware and architecture
· Knowledge of the Linux operating system
· Working knowledge of Google Docs or Microsoft Office suite
· Previous development experience in an Object Oriented language would be a bonus
· Knowledge of the metal stockholding and/or processing industry or similar industries such as Paper and Board, Wood, Plastics, etc
· Understanding of XML
· Web service, gRPC or Protobuf experience.
