Job Description

As a Barclays Project Management Officer (PMO), you will have the opportunity to support the delivery of projects, delivering a complex and dependent set of branch technology initiatives. This exciting role will require you to manage multiple projects in a Digital portfolio building excellent relationships, working closely with application, infrastructure teams and third parties, and ensuring projects are delivered within required project timescales and budget. Driving innovation and developing data to provide valuable insight to help drive decisions and identify issues.

Hybrid Working
We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances

What will you be doing?

* Leading monthly business reporting and forecasting processes, presenting financials to senior stakeholders, providing insightful reporting and key messages

* Controlling, monitoring and challenging costs, profit and loss (P&L) to ensure short term planning (STP) targets are achieved

* Collating and reporting cash and P&L financial risks and opportunities to the CFO and COO, providing options for reducing risks and meeting targets

* Supporting cost prioritisation at Business Unit ExCos to meet financial challenges to forecasts and to reduce costs

* Managing business and stakeholder relationships in relation to a portfolio of initiatives and presenting budget pivoted by strategic theme, sub business unit and control agenda

* Supporting the business in successful planning of a complex portfolio of change, including resource management, financial planning

* Consolidating and tracking procurement and resourcing coverage, and facilitating process to ensure that optimal lead times are achieved

* Setting-up and administer agile JIRA boards for portfolio programmes, ensuring process consistency and reporting

What we’re looking for:

* Exceptional working knowledge of both waterfall and agile project methodologies

* Excellent JIRA and Confluence skills, along with solid PowerPoint skills

* Master in Excel with ability to compare, reconcile and report data in a professional and accurate manner

* Experience in Tech/ Finance Change environment

Skills that will help you in the role:

* Experience of successfully presenting to and managing senior stakeholders

* Business Management experience

* Book keeping and Cash flow experience

* Great Data Analysis skills

Where will you be working?
Northampton was the birthplace of Barclaycard in 1966 and we've been based in Pavilion Drive since the building opened in 1997. We purchased the building from the landlord in early 2018 as a sign of our commitment to investment in Northampton. Plans to further develop this Campus-style location are under way to allow for a real collaborative work environment. Based just off the A45 it is easily accessible by both car and bus routes.
