Project Manager

Roke’s Futures business unit uses our expertise gathered across many industries to provide rapid, innovative, and secure solutions to our customers most complex challenges. We have solutions around Intelligent Sensing, Situational Awareness and Autonomy in aerospace, law enforcement, central government, energy & utilities, and digital health. 
We have a new and exciting opportunity to join the Futures Business Unit (BU) as a Project Manager focussing on the Central Government and Law Enforcement, and other Futures markets. This role will be responsible for the bid and delivery of a wide range of project work with a focus on Consulting and Research & Development into Central Government and Law Enforcement and other Futures markets in the UK, whilst aligning with the Key Account Manager to upsell existing contracts and expand into new customer areas.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Excellent Stakeholder Management
Extensive experience and proven track record in managing and delivering Future Technology Consulting, R&D engagements and projects (up to £5m)  that range from conceptual research through to sub-system development and delivery. in Central Government and Law Enforcement. Experience in other markets also considered.
Experience of delivering a Service / Service Management and ITIL is an advantage
Knowledge of UK Government contracting frameworks
Able to work through complicated situations whilst maintaining communications with multiple stakeholders.  
Solid financial and commercial awareness and experience of negotiation 
Must have a strong appreciation of technology and trends
Must be flexible and willing to contribute where needed in the business cycle to further the team’s success. 
Pre-sale / bid delivery experience and a thorough understanding of the business lifecycle
Demonstrable experience of building excellent relationships both internally and with key client stakeholders
Able to operate on a deadline focussed environmentJob Purpose & Key Responsibilities 

Agree scope, approach and resource requirements for bids
Work with technical teams to document and manage assumptions and dependencies to produce a project plan and maintain this plan through the life of the project 
Successfully deliver projects into Central Government and Law Enforcement markets, and other Futures markets as required, from concept to project completion as per contractual requirements, within time scales, to quality and cost whilst delighting the customer in accordance with company processes and procedures. 
Maintain a risk register of threats and opportunities for the programme and validate contingency costs against these.
Manage the resource requirements of the project(s) and build solid working relationships with the Resourcing function and client stakeholders.
To develop effective relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and partners, to ensure successful and collaborative project delivery
Provide and deliver on accurate financial forecasts for projects using the company tools and processes 
Create and lead effective project teams to deliver successful projects by setting clear and ambitious objectives for the team and supporting the team to achieve them. 
Experienced, capable and willing to fulfil the Project Management role in the different phases of the project lifecycle, from idea / concept to project closure. 
Ensure requirements are being managed, recorded and signed off in the designated tool for the project.
Work with Key Account Managers (KAMs) to identify sales opportunities in new and existing customers
Ensure all projects are thoroughly documented as case studies

BSc. Graduate or equivalent qualification 
APMP or PMP Qualifications. 
ITIL an advantageSecurity
