Job Description

Unity Recruitment are seeking an experienced project manager for an innovative digital parking management and payment technology company who have recently completed a multi-million pound funding round and are growing rapidly.

The company:
A smart cities innovation that uses number plate recognition cameras to detect payment
events and bill drivers automatically. Our focus is currently on parking: our cameras 'see' drivers entering and exiting car parks and then bills them automatically.

They are looking for a hybrid Project Manager and Product Owner to oversee the whole lifecycle of product development, from identifying and verifying the need for a product to project managing its delivery.

You will choose the fundamental approach to Product delivery and the associated ceremonies (e.g. Scrum) and work in close conjunction with the CTO, Product Designer and team of
developers to lead the team through the various ceremonies.

You will be primarily responsible for ensuring the delivery team is kept on-track, working on the highest priority tickets and for removing any obstacles that they encounter.
You will have a broad understanding of how the business works to assist with Product Owner
responsibilities, such as gathering requirements, translating business requirements in well specified tickets, ensuring that our Product Roadmap accurately reflects our business objectives and provides ROI on development time spent.

This is a role with a lot of autonomy and accountability, and an excellent opportunity to help shape a fast-growing, profitable scale-up solving a real problem.


Project delivery

* Collaborate with department heads to achieve a common goal, e.g., by removing blockers
and ensure speed of delivery
* Capture and document business requirements and review them with stakeholders
* Define Use Cases to articulate requirements, validate feasibility, and justify the ROI
* Develop basic project plans, scope of work, timelines and ensuring projects are delivered to specifications and on-time
* Maintain a close working relationship with business users to ensure their needs are
translated into meaningful system changes
* Managing projects through their life cycles, providing periodic status updates and obtaining sign-offs
* Implement and maintain Project Management practices across the business (Agile/Scrum)
* Be part of the technical onboarding of car parks

Team guidance

* Provide support and direction to developers within the team, working with them on a daily
* Designate project tasks to team members and ensure accountability

Product Owner responsibilities (dependent on experience)
* Support the design manager with some Product responsibilities

Requirements and skills

* Ability to think Big Picture and how the entire organisation is tied together across
* Ability to cut through "noise" and strip ever-competing requirements back down to the ones
that truly move the needle
* Understanding of software design and system development life cycle
* Experience leading tech teams with Scrum / Agile approach
* Strong track record of technical project/product deliveries
* Led by data-driven decision making
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong, concise verbal and written communication skills
* Ideally have start-up / scale-up experience

* Salary: £60,000
* Hybrid, likely 2-3 days per week in office
