Job Description

We have recently announced the creation of Pilgrim’s Shared Services, a fourth stand-alone company, which will bring together some of the support functions of our current three businesses (Moy Park, excluding France and Netherlands, Pilgrim’s UK & Pilgrim’s Food Masters). Its purpose is to deliver a high-quality shared service to those three businesses.

As the business grows, this shared service will broaden opportunities for career development as part of a far larger organisation. We will also continue our investment in technology to drive efficiencies and improved ways of working.

The Shared Services company includes a dedicated Procurement function. Reporting to the Network and Connectivity Team Lead, we are pleased to advise that we are now recruiting for an Infrastructure Specialist – Network and Connectivity.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Be responsible for maintaining and proactively managing the portfolio of IT Solutions
Provide Incident and Problem management support.
Perform problem identification and root cause analysis for complex issues.
Perform regular health checks identifying and recommending any potential service improvements
Participation and engagement in Projects/Service improvements impacting Infrastructure Services.
Identification ownership and implementation of proactive maintenance plans including essential upgrades and software patches.
Monitor and review service performance at a component level e.g. Application Server, production of reports including recommendations for risk mitigation.
3rd party/vendor liaison with respect to technical support, build and maintenance.
Meet levels of service in line with published/agreed SLA’s.
Provision of out of hours support including participation in an on-call/stand-by rota. (as per direction from line manager)
Able to work unsocial hours when required which may include short durations away from home
What You'll Need

Significant number of years’ experience in a support/delivery role in a medium to large organisation, with significant technical delivery/support responsibility.
Deep technical knowledge/specialism of the following technologies to “Expert” level:
LAN/WAN/WiFi Switching and routing in an MPLS environment
Palo Alto Firewalls/Cisco ASA Firewalls
Cisco & Dell Switching
AeroHive/Extreme and Cisco Access Points
Solarwinds Network Monitoring & Alerting
Software/Hardware Defined Networking
Network & Connectivity Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
Day to day and Datacentre operations in the Connectivity stream
Network Device obsolesce, patching and security VOIP Telephony
Configuring and managing a Zero Trust Network/NAC/Micro-Segmentation
Experience of configuring, implementing, developing and supporting complex solutions with a value in excess of £1m.
Fully conversant with ITIL principles and a thorough working knowledge of Incident, Change & Problem Management
Understanding of culture in its broadest sense and the diversity of a global organisation.
Excellent communication skills at all levels of management, peers & colleagues, business users etc. with the ability to translate complex IT issues into simpler vocabulary.
