Job Description

Interaction Accountancy and Finance are actively representing an expanding accountancy practice in their search for a Software Specialist R&D Tax Consultant to join their tax team based from their office in Cambridge.

You will be responsible for supporting the R&D Tax team to deliver claim reports to demonstrate to HMRC why clients' technological project qualify for tax relief.  Primarily you will be working alongside the clients' technologists, such as software developers, technical architects across a wide range of industry sectors.

Reporting to the Innovations Director, you will be responsible for carrying out the following duties:

Working closely with clients to discuss their projects with a view to identifying the key technology challenges faced – help to identify which of these projects meet the R&D Tax credits
Prepare supporting technical documents to describe the innovations and technical challenges faced
Helping with financial analysis projects to help clients to identify qualifying R&D expenditure
Managing own portfolio of clients
Maintain relationships with existing clients, whilst building relationships with new clients
Applications are welcomed from individuals with the following skills and experience:

Degree in software engineering 
Experience in helping to claim R&D Tax credits would be advantageous
Previous experience as a software developer or technical architect
Able to resolve technical queries – eg issues related to performance, scale, security or integration with other systems
Ability to extract and understand complex technical information
Excellent communication skills
Team player with a 'can do' attitude
